Join us from 12th April 2025 to 26th April 2025 for an incredible journey through the stunning Manaslu Circuit, one of the most breathtaking treks in the Himalayas. This trek is not just about exploring Nepal’s natural beauty – it's about making a tangible difference.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Samagaon Basic School, helping provide much-needed resources to both the students and staff of the school.

What Makes This Trek Special?

  • Trek through Untouched Beauty: Experience the rugged beauty of the Manaslu Circuit, with its high mountain passes, lush valleys, and views of towering peaks like Mount Manaslu.

  • Discover Tibetan Culture: Walk through traditional Tibetan villages, see local customs, and visit ancient monasteries.

  • Support Samagaon Basic School: Samagaon School, located in a remote village, educates 70 students up to the 5th standard. Your contribution will directly help improve the learning environment for these children and the staff supporting them.

How Your Participation Helps

With the funds raised through this trek, we will provide essential resources to Samagaon Basic School, including:

  • Warm Clothing: Jackets, beanies, socks, and shoes for 70 students, 15 teachers, and staff to keep them warm during the cold months.

  • Stationery: Bulk stationery supplies, including notebooks, pens, and other essential materials, are given to the school as property for all students to use.

These contributions will significantly improve the comfort and educational experience for both the students and teachers of Samagaon School.

Why Support Samagaon Basic School?

Samagaon is a remote village where the harsh climate and limited resources make it difficult for students and staff to access essential learning tools and stay warm during the winter. By joining this trek, you’ll help ensure that the students have the necessary supplies to continue their education comfortably and effectively.

If trekkers feel up for it, the detour will add about 2-3 hours to the day’s journey, offering a more scenic and spiritual experience. The trek itself takes about 4-6 hours, depending on whether you choose to visit the gompa.

We begin the day by heading towards Pungyen Gompa, which requires a short detour from the main trail. The route to the gompa involves a steep climb through alpine meadows and rocky paths. Once we reach the Pungyen Gompa, a peaceful and remote monastery, we can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Manaslu. The site is often quiet and spiritual, offering a moment of reflection for those who wish to take it in.

After visiting Pungyen Gompa, we return to the main trail and continue our way to Samagaon. For those not wishing to take the detour, a team will guide trekkers directly to Samagaon, which takes about 2.5 hours.

The trail to Samagaon is mostly gradual, with stunning views of the mountains as we approach the village. Along the way, we pass through beautiful landscapes of grazing fields, rocky paths, and small stone huts. The village of Samagaon sits at the foot of Manaslu, surrounded by towering peaks.

Once we arrive in Samagaon, we can relax in this picturesque village, known for its warm hospitality and spectacular views. This village serves as a base for those preparing for further treks or hikes, with cosy teahouses and guesthouses where we will spend the night.

Today, we combine a scenic adventure with a meaningful community support program. In the morning, we start with a short but beautiful hike to Birendra Lake. This serene lake is found a few hours away from Samagaon, nestled at the foot of the majestic Manaslu. The hike is easy, with a gradual climb, and the route offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains, lush meadows, and rocky landscapes.

As we approach the lake, we take time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The reflection of snow-capped peaks on the lake’s surface creates a stunning view. We may also spot some local wildlife, such as Himalayan goats and various birds along the way. After spending some time at the lake, we return to Samagaon.

Once back in the village, we will meet with the local parents, teachers, and students to carry out our community support activities. We will distribute jackets, beanies, socks, and shoes to the students, teachers, and staff of Samagaon School. These essential items will help keep them warm in the chilly weather.

During this time, we also have the chance to interact with the local families and teachers. This is an opportunity to learn about their culture, daily life, and the challenges they face.

The parents and teachers are always eager to share their stories and express their gratitude for the support.

Additionally, we will provide stationery in bulk to the school, which will be kept as school property for the students to use. It’s a wonderful way to support the children’s education and show our solidarity with the community.

In the evening, we can relax and reflect on the day’s experiences. The welcoming spirit of the local people, combined with the breathtaking beauty of Samagaon and its surroundings, will make this a memorable day.

  • Altitude: Samdo – 3,875 meters / 12,713 feet

  • Walking Distance: 12 km / 7.5 miles

  • Walking Time: 3-4 hours

After a meaningful day in Samagaon, we continue our trek towards Samdo, a small and scenic village. The trek today is relatively short, taking about 3-4 hours to cover 6 km.

We begin by walking along the Budi Gandaki River and gradually climb up through rocky paths and small meadows. The trail offers stunning views of the Manaslu range and surrounding valleys as we make our way to Samdo. You may also notice the shift in the landscape, as we start entering the higher, more rugged terrain of the mountains.

The route passes through scattered stone huts and fields, and you’ll get glimpses of the local Tibetan-influenced culture. Samdo is a small village that lies close to the Tibetan border, and the people here often keep traditional lifestyles, with their stone houses and yak herding.

Upon arrival in Samdo, we’ll settle into our guesthouse and rest. The village offers a peaceful atmosphere, and after the short day’s trek, it’s a perfect spot to unwind. You can enjoy the quiet surroundings and take in the panoramic mountain views.

As Samdo is the last settlement before we reach the higher altitudes, today also serves as an opportunity to acclimatize before heading further into the Himalayas.

  • Altitude: Dharamshala – 4,460 meters / 14,632 feet

  • Walking Distance: 7 km / 4.5 miles

  • Walking Time: 3-4 hours

Today’s trek will take us from Samdo to Dharamshala, which is not a village but simply a resting point for trekkers preparing to cross Larke La Pass the following day. The hike is short, taking about 3-4 hours, but it’s still important to move at a steady pace to help acclimatize to the higher altitude.

We start the day with a gentle climb through rocky terrain and sparse vegetation. The route is mainly uphill, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Manaslu in the distance. As we ascend, we will pass through some isolated spots, with the landscape becoming more barren and rugged. Keep an eye out for yaks grazing and the occasional Tibetan herders with their flocks.

Dharamshala is in a more exposed area, so the accommodation here is extremely basic. It’s often in simple teahouses or even tents. The primary purpose of staying here is to rest and prepare for the tough day ahead as we approach Larke La Pass.

After arriving in Dharamshala, we will have the rest of the day to relax and adjust to the altitude. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot, and a good opportunity to hydrate and enjoy the stunning surroundings. The higher altitude can make it harder to breathe, so it's important to take things slow and stay rested.

In the evening, we'll enjoy the tranquillity of this high-altitude location, preparing mentally and physically for the challenging pass-crossing the next day.

  • Altitude: Larke La Pass – 5,106 meters / 16,751 feet

  • Bhimthang – 3,590 meters / 11,778 feet

  • Walking Distance: 19 km / 12 miles

  • Walking Time: 7-9 hours

Today is one of the most challenging and rewarding days of the trek. We will begin early, heading towards Larke La Pass, which sits at an altitude of 5,106 meters (16,751 feet). This is the highest point of the trek, so it’s important to pace yourself and take breaks as needed.

We start the day with a steep climb from Dharamshala. The trail is rocky, and the high altitude makes the hike more strenuous. Along the way, the air thins out, and the landscape becomes more barren, with glaciers and jagged peaks surrounding us.

As we approach Larke La Pass, the views become stunning. The pass itself offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Himalchuli, Larke Peak, and Sonam Samdo Peak. The sight of these towering peaks makes the long climb worthwhile. We’ll pause for a well-deserved break at the pass, taking in the breathtaking scenery and snapping photos of the Himalayas.

After crossing the pass, the descent begins. It’s a steep and challenging drop as we make our way towards Bhimthang, a small settlement where we’ll rest for the night. The descent will take a few hours, passing through glaciers and snow-covered paths. The trail can be slippery, so careful footing is important.

Once we arrive in Bhimthang, we’ll settle into a guesthouse and relax after the long day. Bhimthang is a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by mountains. The quiet and serene atmosphere will be a perfect place to unwind and recover from the day’s strenuous trek.

This day will be one of the highlights of your journey, offering a true sense of achievement after crossing the Larke La Pass. The views, the challenge, and the sense of accomplishment make it a day to remember.

  • Altitude: Tilje – 2,300 meters / 7,545 feet

  • Walking Distance: 20 km / 12.5 miles

  • Walking Time: 6-7 hours

After the challenging Larke La Pass crossing, today’s trek will be a relatively easier descent as we make our way to Tilje, a charming village along the trail. The route is mostly downhill, but it’s still important to keep a steady pace.

We begin the day with a descent through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, walking alongside the Budi Gandaki River. The trail is well-marked, and the landscape gradually transitions from rocky alpine terrain to a more verdant setting. As we continue, we will pass through small villages like Karche, where you’ll get a glimpse of traditional life in the region. The villages along the trail are inhabited by ethnic groups such as the Gurung and Tamang, and their culture is reflected in the architecture and local lifestyle.

Along the way, we will pass through small waterfalls, streams, and terraced fields. The scenery continues to be breathtaking, with clear views of the surrounding mountains. The air is warmer here, which will make the walk more comfortable compared to the higher altitudes of the previous days.

By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Tilje, a peaceful village that marks the end of today’s trek. Tilje is known for its beautiful setting, nestled at the foot of towering peaks. The village has several guesthouses where we will rest for the night.

This day will be a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy the changing landscape, with plenty of time to reflect on the journey so far. After the challenging days over the pass, this relatively short and easier trek to Tilje will be a welcome relief.

  • Altitude: Kathmandu – 1,400 meters / 4,593 feet

  • Drive Time: 8-9 hours
