    EBC March/April 2018 - Most Amazing Experience

I went on the EBC trek at the end of March and into April 2018 via Himalayan Treks and scenery. The whole thing from start to end was managed flawlessly by this company and we are especially thankful for our guide Shiba Karki who was excellent as were our phenomenal porters.

We had varying degrees of fitness and wellness within our team of six and each of us had our bad days! Shiba and the porters were extremely accommodating and responsive in making sure all of us were properly looked after and supported throughout the trek. Each day was well planned and we were fully briefed the night before each trek on the plan for the next day and what were were to expect and where required adapted the itinerary to suit our circumstances.

Thanks to the team, we all successfully completed our trek and had the ultimate experience of our lives. We were sad to say good bye to Shiba, Moti Lal, BoopRaj and young lad who portered us on the trek. Their vast experience and ongoing advise served to be invaluable.

I am totally hooked and looking forward to planning my next trek and would have no hesitation in using this company if I do anything in this region again!

    Trek to Everest Base Camp

Our group left for Everest Base Camp on the 22nd Of April this year.
On arrival at Kathmandu Airport your representative met us and quickly escorted us to a mini bus and proceeded to our hotel in Kathmandu.
We took a  trip the next day and it was very interesting with regards to the culture of Kathmandu.
We met our Guide Gakul and he introduced himself and met us at the Pilgrims hotel to start our Trek.
Can I express my sincere thanks from the group with regards to the professionalism that Gakul showed throughout theTrek.
Any questions asked were answered and Gakul tended to our every need.
You are so blessed to have him on your team.
Can we also say a massive thanks to  Santosh Rajan and Gopal who were our porters on the trip. These guys were amazing not just for what thy do but in the way they treated my group.
I would have no reservation with regards to recommending your company to anyone I know that wants to do Base Camp.
As you may not know my mother passed away on the 25th of February this year and she was so looking forward in seeing me complete this trip.
The experience I received from your  team made me so proud to make it for my mum and this was down to your team up the mountain.
I can't express how much I have enjoyed my trip.
    Thank you.

I would have no hesitation in booking a holiday with Himalayan Scenery and Trek expedition.
Live your life and enjoy every experience.
    Not giving in.

    EBC Trek

I was in a group of 4 trekking to EBC. Our guide Namaraj was excellent. He was professional when he needed to be and fun the rest of the time. Namaraj and the whole team at the company really stepped up when my friend and I got severe AMS. They organised rescue from the mountain and looked after us until we were safely back in Kathmandu. I can’t recommend this company enough.

EBC 12 day Trek April 2018

I was part of a group of six who completed the 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp a few weeks ago. The booking and arrangements for the trek were made about 4 months prior and everything worked out as planned other than the guide from Himalayan ST&E failing to meet us at the airport.

Our guide Shiba Karki and his assistants were excellent. Several of our group were first-time trekkers and Shiba who is very knowledgeable and approachable was able to keep the group together at a good pace. When one of our members was sick Shiba carried our friend's backpack (plus his own). The assistants (porters) were also very friendly and provided excellent support.

This was my first trek and it was physically and mentally very demanding. Aside from the physical trek dealing with the cold and altitude made this a very challenging experience but one I can look back with pride.

The facilities for this trek such as the lodges are fairly basic (which is understandable) but the planning from Himalayan ST&E plus our guide Shiba enabled us to complete the trek successfully. If you are considering trekking in Nepal I would definitely recommend Himalayan ST&E.

    EBC Trek

I went with a group of six and had the most amazing experience.

I went in pretty much blind not knowing what to expect and had zero trekking experience.

Our guide was Shiba Karki who was excellent. He always made sure that he went at a good pace according to the group. He was always there to help and advise along the way and was very approachable and knowledgeable.

If I were to do any kind of trekking in the Himalayas I would insist on him as my guide.

Make no mistake, this was one of the hardest things I have done so far physically but Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expeditions helped to make it happen as smoothly as possible.

If you’re looking for a company to book your EBC trek with, I’d thoroughly recommend these guys.

    Everest Base Camp Trek

Simply amazing. It’s taken a while to put my review on here but the other day I was sorting through the photos from the trip and I realised I needed to write.

This company we’re just fantastic to deal with, from early email queries to the worried daft questions of some of us before we set out on the trek, which I’m sure they have heard a thousand times before. All the team in the office were attentive and nothing was an issue.

We were a group of 12 some couples, friends and a couple of solos including me. I don’t think I could have picked better people to spend 2 intense weeks at close proximity. They were all fab, great company and people I want to keep in touch with. There’s even early talk of a reunion style expedition to Island Peak.

The trek itself is so well organised, we were first out of Kathmandu on the early morning flight to Lukla, organised, sorted, rushed through the airport and next thing we know descending into the craziest airport in the world. We were blessed with amazing weather for the whole trek so getting up, even in the coldest teahouses high up was a joy because it meant a quick breakfast while the sun rose up and then several hours of walking in the stunning sunshine and scenery.

The tea houses were all great, we had one hiccup with the one in Tengeboche deciding to give away our rooms for no good reason. Everyone was disappointed but I’m sure the company let them know that’s no way to do business!

This was one example wher things could’ve put a real downer on the trek but for one person - Narayana. He is a legend and a fantastic man, guide, waiter, nurse, motivator, organiser. He and Gobi - our second guide/porter were just exceptional. Knowledgeable about every aspect of the trek, the mountains, local culture, all the rules of the mountains. They would guide and pace us expertly, they would get us to meal stops on time and then as if flicking a switch become our waiters for the next hour, always ensuring we were happy, fed and had water bottles topped up ready to go again.

On an evening Narayana would check our blood sats and pulse and doubtless monitored us all from afar throughout the day to make sure we were all healthy and happy.

Narayana spoke great English and had a great sense of humour and is just a fantastic guy who, getting to know him, makes huge sacrifices being away from his family for weeks on end to make sure people like me have an amazing experience and I am so grateful to him for that.

For anyone thinking about it. Do it. You will love it, even when it gets tough mentally and physically tiring. It is definitely an experience you will never forget made all the better by the people you will meet and those who work so hard to make your trip so memorable.

Not a holiday but a challenge!!!

Trekked to EBC. One of the hardest things I have ever done but also one of the most memorable. From start to finish the trip was amazing and well organised. Our guide was Narayan and I don't think we could have been given a better guide. He is knowledgeable and attentive. He cared about our wellbeing and regularly checked in with us to make sure we were acclimatising. He checked our oxygen every evening. He had the patience of a saint as I moaned constantly about everything from the cold, the food, the climb and feeling ill. On part of our trek he played some 80s music on his phone which boosted our morale during a 7 hour slog.
We were a group of 5 and we all got on splendidly and helped each other get to EBC.

For me the trek was a once in a lifetime adventure. Narayan and his counterpart Gopal made it so. I would very highly recommend them as guides!

    Annapurna Base Camp Oct 2017

What a trip. Honestly this was a trip of a lifetime and we owe it all to Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition. From the word go they were extremely helpful, friendly and gave us all the information we needed to have a great and safe trip.
Trekking up the Himalayas was an absolutely wonderful experience, large in part to our guide Gopi, who was fantastic, very friendly and always looked out for us.
We also had a tour around Kathmandu, white water rafting and a safari experience through this company, all of which was so easy to organise.
Would definitely recommend them to everyone planning an awesome trip!
