    Trusted Gudes in Nepal

Preparing my second trip to Nepal, again with Himalayan Scenary. The first was Everest Base Camp through Gokyo. Now Mera Peak, Amphu Labtsa and island Peak.
Once again personalized itinerary, always focused in our needs, answering very fast all our doubts. If you want an agency to trust, Himalayan Scenary is the best choice.

    Annapurna Poonhill trek

What an amazing family experience we had in Nepal with our three teenagers, 13,15,17. We will never forget the wonderful people we met, Ramkrishna, Samika, our guide Kiki, and our porters Saugat and Rmnaj. They all went the extra mile to make our holiday an absolute trip of a lifetime. It was lovely to see our teens quickly disconnect from their fast lives back home and even though they had no training they conquered the treks easily. We embraced the peaceful serenity walking through the mountains for 7 days and the highlights of relaxing in the Jintu Hot Springs, the early morning trek to Poonhill, the delicious meals at every teahouse and the fun Nepalese card games we played at night with Kiki, Saugat and Nmraj. We are definitely coming back for our next challenge, Everest Basecamp. It will be wonderful to see all our Nepalese friends again and to experience that incredible spirit only found in Nepal.

    EBC

After having trekked the Annapurna circuit last year, EBC remained on our list to do. We only decided to do this at very short notice and sent a tentative enquiry to Chandra to see if it was possible. Within 24 hours everything was organised and off we went. While we had some idea of the demands of trekking in Nepal after Annapurna, EBC is in a completely different league as far as a physical challenged is concerned. It was definitely a lot harder, given both a prolonged period at higher altitudes and colder temperatures morning and evening to contend with. On the other side we had magnificent weather with blue skies every day. So November is definitely a good time to do this trek. The views were simply stunning. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam ect. Our guide Dinesh was fantastic, taking care of all the details and looking after us really well. He picked great accommodation getting us the best rooms in the lodges. Every night he cut up some fresh Jomson apples for us for desert! The flight into Lukla was amazing and a real highlight. The walk and acclimatisation days were all well planed and mostly enjoyable. During the day with the sun out it was very warm. In addition to our guide we had a helper (Surat)to carry our gear, which I recommend. You don't have to be super fit to do this walk provided you don't over stress yourself. I took Diamox (125mg) morning and evening and that helped prevent any symptoms of altitude sickness, which I suffered the year before on Annapurna, where I didn't take this drug. Interestingly enough we met a Canadian Neurologist who was also taking Diamox so that in my mind attested to the fact I was doing the right thing. Chandra and his team at Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt Limited are great to deal and would heartily recommend them to anyone. Family friendly and professional they cover all the basis. Our next trip is to Pokara and their village.

    EBC trek

This was an amazing experience! Shiba was a great guide and made our trip all the better. He was always making sure everyone was doing well, feeling healthy, and didn't need anything. So glad we decided not to go independently and this trek was put together well with Himalayan scenery.

Poon Hill and Annapurna base Camp

A wonderful experience. In a word, it was rugged. The scenery was rugged. So was the walk-- but not so much that it was a problem for a 76-year-old in good nick. We were surprised at the number and frequency of little hotels, restaurants and shops serving the walkers-- all supplied by porters.
Ramkrishna was helpful and accommodating. He organised an additional couple of days in Chitwan National Park which, apart from the elephant ride, turned out to be less than spectacular at that time of year. (We saw rhinos.)
Our guide, Shiba, was superb. So were our excellent porters, Gopal and Hori.
From this experience we learnt that carrying capacity is not related to body size/weight/strength. Our porters were 52 and 57 kg and with 30kg on their backs could carry around 85kg. Like me, 78kg + 7kg pack = 85kg.
Looking forward to Everest Base Camp!

    Annapurna base camp trek

I have had the most wonderful time, the trek to base camp was amazing, the scenery beautiful, all made better by my gorgeous guide the " Dashing Dashe". He was caring, approachable, and so compassionate to everyone around him, we laughed our way to the top. I would highly reccomend this agency, Ramkrishna, replied with so much information to all my emails, and Santos took me on a lovely dinner date at the end. Everyone was so lovely and I can not wait to come back next year, I have found my happy place in the mountains in Nepal! thankyou team!!!
